Job Title: All-Around Machinist
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled All-Around Machinist to support the production of molded rubber products through the machining, reworking, and maintenance of tools, molds, dies, and fixtures. The ideal candidate is proficient in CNC programming (Edgecam or similar software) and capable of operating both CNC and manual machines with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Program CNC mills and lathes from scratch using Edgecam or similar software — this is the top priority for the role.
Operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders to produce new or refurbished molds, dies, and fixtures.
Perform occasional welding and torch work as required for tool repair and maintenance.
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, manuals, and specifications to determine machining processes and tolerances.
Set and adjust machine controls (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut) or program CNC equipment.
Inspect machined parts to ensure quality before releasing them to production.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot machining or assembly issues and suggest design modifications as needed.
Safely handle and transport molds and raw materials between production and storage areas.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop environment, including tool inventory and equipment upkeep.
Train junior machinists and share knowledge of tools, procedures, and machinery.
Comply with all safety regulations and actively participate in maintaining a zero-injury workplace.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience machining tools, molds, dies, and fixtures, preferably in a rubber manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated ability to program CNC mills and lathes independently.
Proficient in the operation of CNC and manual machining equipment.
Skilled in using precision hand measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
Valid Forklift and Crane certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Must pass a Machinist test with at least 85% accuracy (if required).
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow technical instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
CNC/machining certifications (not mandatory but advantageous).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including overhead and dynamic movement.
Manual dexterity for handling small tools and components.
Comfortable working at heights and navigating ladders, stairs, and uneven surfaces.
Must have valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles.
Adequate vision, depth perception, and hearing to safely perform tasks in an industrial environment.

Willingness to work flexible or extended hours depending on production needs.
