Skills Required:
- Must possess the ability to use measuring, hand, and power tools.
- The person must have a mechanical aptitude that can be verified through hobbies, side jobs, temp jobs on holidays.
- Trades such as mechanic work on cars, woodwork, construction, electrical.
- Networking understanding of the OSI (TCP/IP) model
- What are the layers of the OSI model?
- What is a switch, router, hub, modem?
- What is an IP address and MAC address?
- What is a LAN and WAN?
- What is DHCP?
- How does ip addressing and subnetting work?
- What is current, voltage, resistance, conductance, resistance, insulation?
- How do you calculate resistance in series and parallel
- What happens to current flowing through resistors in series and parallel
- What is an ohm meter? How does it work?
- What is cross talk on wires?
- How does wire size affect resistance?
- Must understand schematics for hydraulics or electrical or electronics
- Explain symbols on the schematic and understand how to read legends
Computer Skills Required:
- Must be able to use Microsoft suite (excel, word, PowerPoint, office)
- Must be familiar with I pad usage and proficiency
