Wells Superintendent – MODU
Location: Aberdeen (Onshore)
Contract Length: 24 months
Our Operator Client is seeking an experienced Wells Superintendent – MODU to support onshore planning and offshore execution of subsea well operations, including plug and abandonment and intervention activities. This is a senior technical leadership role, working closely with onshore and offshore teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of complex well programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and technical oversight for MODU subsea well operations, including P&A and intervention activities
Plan, coordinate, and execute well programmes in line with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice
Manage interfaces with rig contractors, service providers, and internal stakeholders
Oversee offshore operations, change management, risk assessments, and programme reviews
Ensure effective scheduling, equipment readiness, procurement planning, and budget control
Maintain strong relationships with regulators, well examiners, and third parties
Undertake regular offshore visits and participate in operational duty rotas as required
Extensive experience as a Wells Superintendent overseeing MODU subsea drilling, completion, intervention, and abandonment operations
Strong operator-side experience, ideally within mature assets
Degree in an engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent operational experience
Subsea Well Control certification to Supervisor level (e.g. IWCF)
Offshore survival, UK medical, and MIST
Strong technical knowledge of subsea well systems, including vertical and horizontal Xmas trees and C/WO riser systems
High level of commercial awareness and proven leadership capability
Experience supporting LWIV operations
Experience delivering integrated subsea well abandonment campaigns
