The Trainee Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and reliable Product and Service Delivery (PSD) through laboratory testing, additive selection, and fluid design. The role includes performing quality assurance tests, preparing lab reports, maintaining equipment, and providing technical support to both internal teams and external clients. This position is a developmental role focused on building the competency required to independently manage advanced technical lab responsibilities.
Conduct quality assurance testing on company products and prepare laboratory reports in support of wellsite operations.
Develop skills in advanced additive selection and fluid formulation to meet client specifications and operational demands.
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all job-related deliverables.
Maintain contact with Client Support Labs, operating locations, product centers, and the InTouch knowledge base to support service quality.
Keep laboratory equipment clean and in good working condition; ensure regular disposal of lab waste in compliance with safety standards.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations for internal teams and external customers as needed.
Assist Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions with troubleshooting and technical evaluations.
Perform safety risk analysis before each task or job to proactively identify and mitigate hazards.
Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers to review performance and execute improvement action plans.
Participate in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and quality improvement initiatives.
Comply with all PPE requirements and safety procedures; maintain up-to-date safety certifications and training.
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
No previous experience required—entry-level role with structured training provided.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Basic knowledge of laboratory practices or chemistry is advantageous.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow procedures and work under supervision.
Laboratory and operational facility setting with exposure to chemicals and industrial equipment.
Full PPE required (e.g., lab coat, gloves, goggles, safety shoes).
Regular standing, walking, and lifting of laboratory equipment or samples.
