The Tool Assistant is responsible for supporting the coordination, execution, and QA/QC of processes and procedures related to the Downhole Tool product line. This role ensures that products supplied meet or exceed customer requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and operational excellence.
This is a hands-on, entry-level to junior-level role supporting tool maintenance, rebuilding, and logistics under direct supervision.
Coordinate with customer field representatives for pickup and delivery of Cyclops Setting Tools
Wash, tear down, inspect, and rebuild Cyclops Setting Tools per applicable work instructions under strict supervision
Accurately document and report all steps of the Recycling Program using company software systems
Assist with tool logistics, including delivery and pickup when required
Ensure all required tools and equipment are available, functional, and properly maintained
Maintain high standards of quality control and compliance with company procedures
Uphold professionalism, honesty, and integrity in all interactions
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Downhole tool experience preferred but not required
Experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or shop environment preferred
Proficiency with basic hand tools
Basic computer skills (Windows 10, Microsoft Office)
Experience with ERP systems preferred
Forklift certification or prior forklift experience is a plus
Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Physically demanding position involving lifting, bending, and manual loading/unloading
Regular handling of heavy tools and equipment
Exposure to oilfield environments and potential contact with hydrocarbons
Shop-based environment with strict safety compliance requirements
