Job Title: Supv, Materials Control (Direct Hire)

Overview:
Under broad direction, oversees the inventory management functions for the area supported to include: ordering, processing goods issues /receipts, coordination of inventory reduction and redeployment opportunities, and inventory physical verification. Role will have direct responsibility for team leadership and management of the training programs and can potentially manage operations in multiple facilities within the region. Job responsible for various managerial functions including: interviewing applicants, training employees, directing and apportioning subordinate work, setting hours of work, appraising subordinate work performance, disciplining subordinates, recommending increases in compensation for subordinates, and handling employee grievances. Also responsible for making decisions regarding, and/or making recommendations regarding, the hiring and firing of employees. Requires full understanding of the sales order process as applicable to materials. The position requires knowledge of all interfaces with the PSL's, and other support functions. This position will actively promote lean and continuous improvement initiatives and comply with the company’s safety program.


Essential duties and responsibilities:
The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse management and control functions for the area of supervision. The supervisor manages staff and day-to-day operations, coordinates training for staff and employees, and makes sure that all shipping / receiving and cycle count processes are accurate and optimized. ?
• Manage and oversee all aspects of the warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, physical inventory verification, and operational efficiency
• Directly responsible for warehouse management HSE programs, promotes safe working environment, and ensures reporting procedures for incidents are followed
• Supervise and lead a team of warehouse employees, including scheduling, training, and performance management
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve warehouse efficiency and accuracy, including CI (continuous improvement) initiatives, inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders
• Monitor and analyze warehouse performance metrics and make recommendations for improvements

Minimum requirements:

  • Eight years related experience in a warehouse or operations environment or a four year degree plus 4 years work experience required.
  • Strong computer skills and analytical abilities to resolve problems required.
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred) or ERP

Education:
  • Two year degree; a four year undergraduate degree in supply chain, engineering/applied math, finance/accounting or business is preferred
