Under strict supervision, the Downhole Electronics Technician performs repairs, preventative maintenance, calibration, and inspections on downhole tool electronics and associated equipment. This includes tools used in Directional Drilling, RSS (Rotary Steerable Systems), and M/LWD (Measurement & Logging While Drilling) applications.
This role requires strong attention to detail, safety compliance, and technical aptitude in mechanical and/or electronic systems.
Perform repair and preventative maintenance on downhole tool electronics
Conduct calibration and functional inspections of MWD/LWD and RSS tools
Assemble and disassemble downhole tools and associated PSL equipment
Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical components
Utilize computer systems for diagnostics, documentation, and reporting
Follow safety procedures and company quality standards
Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
Ensure tools meet operational readiness standards before deployment

Computer diagnostics skills
MWD / LWD downhole tool experience
Assembly/disassembly of PSL equipment
Technical school certificate (required)
Associate degree or higher preferred
Experience with downhole tool electronics, directional drilling tools, RSS, or M/LWD sensors preferred
Strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to work under supervision in a fast-paced shop environment
