Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner (Contract)

Location: Houston, TX 77046 (Greenway Plaza)
Schedule: Onsite | Monday-Friday (5 days per week)
Duration: 6-Month Contract

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner to lead full-cycle recruiting for professional, technical, engineering, operations, and leadership positions supporting major energy, infrastructure, and power projects.

This is a highly consultative recruiting role for someone who thrives on finding exceptional talent in competitive markets. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of proactively sourcing passive candidates, developing targeted talent pipelines, and partnering with hiring leaders to deliver high-quality hiring outcomes.

Success in this role requires much more than posting jobs and managing applicants—you'll be expected to strategically identify, engage, and attract niche talent through market intelligence, networking, talent mapping, and advanced sourcing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand business objectives, technical requirements, and hiring priorities.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment from intake meetings through offer acceptance.
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies to identify top talent across engineering, energy, power, industrial, operations, commercial, and corporate functions.
  • Build and maintain robust talent pipelines for difficult-to-fill and specialized positions.
  • Conduct proactive searches using LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, referrals, market mapping, competitive intelligence, and alternative sourcing methods.
  • Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with passive candidates who are not actively seeking new opportunities.
  • Create targeted sourcing campaigns that generate diverse, high-quality candidate pipelines.
  • Provide hiring managers with market insights, talent availability, compensation trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Screen and evaluate candidates through structured interviews and assessments.
  • Coordinate interviews, manage candidate communications, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting data and applicant tracking documentation.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to improve recruiting processes and hiring effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with external recruiting partners and staffing vendors as needed.
  • Support recruiting initiatives, employer branding efforts, and continuous process improvement projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including sourcing highly specialized professional and technical talent.
  • Proven success recruiting within the engineering, energy, utilities, power generation, industrial, EPC, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing proactive sourcing strategies—not solely managing inbound applicants.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Passive candidate recruiting
    • Talent mapping
    • Competitive market research
    • Pipeline development
    • Networking and relationship building
    • Executive search methodologies
  • Advanced proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing platforms and research tools.
  • Experience partnering directly with hiring leaders and serving as a trusted recruiting advisor.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, recruiting best practices, and candidate assessment techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience recruiting for positions such as:

  • Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Process, Controls, and Project Engineers
  • Project Controls, Project Management, Construction Management
  • Operations and Field Services
  • Commercial and Business Development
  • Supply Chain and Procurement
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Environmental, Regulatory, and Energy Transition roles

Experience recruiting for organizations supporting:

  • Oil & Gas
  • Midstream
  • Power Generation
  • Utilities
  • Renewable Energy
  • Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS)
  • Hydrogen
  • Ammonia
