Senior Project Controls Manager

We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Manager to lead project services functions across complex industrial capital projects. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring projects meet commercial, financial, cost, schedule, and documentation requirements using industry best practices in project controls.

You will serve as the strategic authority for project performance, partnering closely with executive leadership and project management to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Controls Leadership

• Develop and implement comprehensive project controls plans and procedures

• Establish and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and resource plans

• Lead cost control, performance measurement, and change management processes

• Oversee risk identification, mitigation, and reporting

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing project controls teams

• Drive accountability, performance standards, and cross-functional alignment

• Coordinate across engineering, construction, commercial, and executive stakeholders

Reporting & Performance Management

• Deliver executive-level reporting on cost, schedule, risk, and overall project health

• Analyze trends and provide actionable recommendations

• Ensure compliance with contract terms and financial controls

Continuous Improvement

• Strengthen systems, tools, and processes to enhance project controls effectiveness

• Champion best practices and technology adoption

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or related field

• 15+ years of progressive experience in project controls, cost engineering, planning, scheduling, and project management within industrial environments

• Proven success delivering large, complex, multi-office projects on time and within budget

• Deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, earned value, estimating, and scheduling

• Strong leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera (P6), and related tools

• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performance teams
