Senior Production Engineer – Contract (PAYE) - Aberdeen |  37.5 hours per week

JAB Recruitment is supporting our client with the appointment of a Senior Production Engineer to join their team in Aberdeen. This is a long-term PAYE contract role with excellent scope for involvement across both project development and operations.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Production Engineer, you will:

• Deliver well and network hydraulics analysis.

• Perform detailed production optimisation, including allocation and production prognosis.

• Conduct safe injection evaluations, with an understanding of well barriers.

• Carry out well productivity and inflow control analysis.

• Support planning of wells, completion design, and interventions, including operational follow-up.

• Monitor and manage sand production.

• Provide specialist services such as well test analysis, well chemistry, cased hole logging, and rock mechanics evaluation.

• Contribute technical production input to field development and modification projects.

• Analyse and integrate production data across the value chain, evaluating risks and uncertainties.

• Work in multidisciplinary teams to integrate production and subsurface data for mapping, target identification, reservoir characterisation, and well planning.

• Collaborate with reservoir engineers on history matching, allocation uncertainty, and drainage strategy.

• Apply commercial awareness and business understanding in technical decision-making.

• Support digitalisation, technology development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 7 years’ technical experience with proven delivery across production/petroleum engineering.

• Strong background with commercial production engineering tools such as IPM suite (Prosper/GAP/Reveal), NETool, and Kappa.

• Experience in production and injection management, covering both operations and project development.

• Advantageous experience in one or more of the following:

• Subsea production systems

• Flow assurance

• Production log planning and analysis

• Rock mechanics

• Well completions and stimulation

• Reservoir engineering

• Artificial lift (ESP, Gas Lift)

• Data analytics, scripting, or programming
