Job Title: Senior Piping Designer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Piping Designer to join our team. The Senior Piping Designer will lead a drafting team responsible for preparing layouts and designs of complex piping systems using advanced 2D and 3D modeling software. This role may also function as a Project Lead, Drafting Checker, or Project Coordinator, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet project standards, client requirements, and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Design

• Prepare complete design packages, including preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables, along with required calculations.

• Create detailed drawings of parts, assemblies, and piping systems, including projections, sectional views, and standard specifications.

• Interpret verbal or written direction to produce preliminary and final designs.

• Collect and organize reference drawings and project information from multiple sources.

• Develop piping and equipment layouts from PFDs and P&IDs.

• Verify sketches, drawings, and designs for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with standards.

• Interface with stress engineers, pipe support engineers, construction teams, and suppliers for model/space control and project alignment.

• Prepare and revise parts lists, bills of material (BOM), procurement lists, and specifications in line with engineering changes.

• Meet deadlines for the compilation and submission of drawing packages and deliverables.

Drafting

• Produce 2D detailed drawings and drafting packages (IFA, IFB, IFC, IDC, and As-Built) according to company and client standards.

• Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for gas processing skids and packaged equipment.

• Configure and generate smart 3D models and fabrication drawings, including Isometrics, P&IDs, General Arrangements, I&E drawings, and more.

• Apply drafting standards, layering, xrefs, dynamic blocks, and plot styles effectively to maintain consistency and accuracy.

• Ensure compliance with company and client drafting/design standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in piping design, drafting mechanical components, layouts, fabrication drawings, and/or packaged skid units.

• Proficiency in PDMS (AVEVA E3D), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office required.

• Strong background in 2D and 3D design, model/paper space, and drafting best practices.

• Expertise in developing Site Plans, Equipment Plans, Piping Plans/Elevations, Isometric Drawings, and 3D Models.

• Knowledge of piping project requirements from concept through completion.

• Ability to establish, maintain, and document company drafting and design standards while adapting to client-specific standards.

• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

• Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong facilitation, collaboration, and team-building abilities.
