Job Title: Senior Commercial Consultant
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Consultant to support complex project delivery within a dynamic operating environment. This role is suited to a commercially focused professional with deep expertise in contracts management rather than a legal background.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and managing work scopes, collaborating closely with the Operating Company (NOC) on AIMS-related activities, and interfacing with project controls and third-party stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, review, and management of contractual work scopes across projects
- Act as a key commercial interface with the Operating Company (NOC), particularly in relation to AIMS activities
- Provide hands-on contracts management support across the full project lifecycle
- Work closely with Project Controls to ensure alignment between commercial frameworks, cost tracking, and scheduling
- Manage and coordinate commercial interactions with third-party contractors and suppliers
- Support procurement and tendering processes, including bid evaluations and contract negotiations
- Identify and manage commercial risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place
- Drive contract compliance and ensure obligations are clearly understood and executed
- Contribute to change management processes, including variations, claims, and dispute avoidance/resolution
- Provide commercial insight and support to project teams to optimise value and delivery outcomes
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience in a senior commercial or contracts role within large-scale projects (e.g. energy, infrastructure, or similar sectors)
- Strong background in contracts management (as opposed to purely legal advisory roles)
- Proven ability to develop and manage detailed work scopes
- Experience working directly with Operating Companies (NOC environments preferred)
- Solid understanding of AIMS or similar asset/project management systems
- Demonstrated experience working alongside Project Controls functions (cost, planning, reporting)
- Strong experience managing third-party contractors and supplier relationships
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
