Senior Asset Accountant
JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing for a Senior Asset Accountant to join our client’s Finance Department in Aberdeen. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring compliance and delivery of all Joint Venture accounting activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
A Compressed Working Week (CWW) arrangement is available, allowing employees and contractors to work 75 hours over 9 days (instead of 10 days) within a two-week period, with the 10th day designated as a non-working “Flex Friday.”
To ensure compliance and delivery of all Joint Venture accounting activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Deliver effective accounting and financial reporting for the assigned Asset area in compliance with policies and procedures.
Manage Person Responsible for Expenditure (PRE) processes, including post-lock Forecast Tool review.
Prepare and review accurate monthly/quarterly asset forecasts with Asset Managers.
Prepare and review Asset Budgets with Asset Managers.
Review and control Authorisation for Expenditures (AFEs).
Review monthly accrual entries, including prior year releases.
Review and approve payment requests, invoices, journals, and JV billings prior to issue to partners.
Review non-operated billings from other Operators, raising queries and ensuring approvals.
Undertake JV-specific activities as applicable.
Prepare/review monthly asset report and partner report commentary, liaising with asset managers and commercial representatives.
Prepare/review monthly corporate variance commentaries.
Review key account reconciliations and manage reconciliation issue lists, ensuring follow-up actions.
Prepare/review Tax Packs on a biannual basis (as applicable).
Maintain master data within the Oracle ERP system.
Coordinate JV audits for Operated assets and support audits for Non-operated assets.
Liaise with external auditors as required.
Represent Finance at Asset OCM meetings.
Supervise and develop JV assistant accountant.
Essential Qualifications:
Degree in accounting or related subject.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAS, CIMA, ACCA).
Essential Experience & Skills:
Experience in Joint Venture accounting practices within an Oil & Gas Operator.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred:
Experience with Oracle ERP.
