The Sandblast / Prep / Paint Technician is responsible for industrial surface preparation and application of coatings, including 2-part epoxy paint systems, in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production by ensuring equipment is properly prepared, coated, and finished to company specifications.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working extended hours in a non-climate-controlled facility.
Perform sandblasting, hand sanding, taping, and grinding to prepare surfaces
Operate pneumatic sanders and grinding equipment
Ensure proper surface prep prior to coating
Prepare and mix 2-part epoxy paint systems
Apply primer and topcoat per specifications
Inspect work to ensure proper coverage and finish quality
Move materials using an overhead crane
Stage materials for production
Maintain proper storage of chemicals and coatings
Cross-train into other areas as needed
Support production schedules and plant operations
Follow all safety and environmental policies
Wear required PPE at all times
Assist with plant housekeeping (sweeping, trash removal, chemical storage)
Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately
High School Diploma or GED
Previous sandblasting experience (required and must be on resume)
Experience using 2-part epoxy paint systems (required and must be on resume)
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work extended shifts and weekends
Ability to stand for long periods
Industrial manufacturing facility
Non-climate-controlled (no AC)
Physically active role requiring standing for 8+ hours
