We’re partnering with a manufacturing organization to hire two Manufacturing Engineers to support elastomer-based manufacturing operations within an aerospace, ITAR-regulated environment. These roles work closely with production, quality, safety, and engineering teams to develop, optimize, and sustain elastomer manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with industry and customer standards.
This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role ideal for candidates with experience in elastomer processing who thrive in a regulated, quality-driven environment.
Develop, implement, and optimize elastomer manufacturing processes including:
Compression molding
Injection molding
Extrusion
Mixing and curing
Calendaring (as applicable)
Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis tools
Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, SOPs, control plans, and PFMEAs
Provide day-to-day technical support to production teams
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues related to elastomer manufacturing
Define, validate, and optimize process parameters for new and existing products to ensure stability, repeatability, and compliance
Support tooling design, tooling trials, and qualification activities for elastomer components
Specify, validate, and maintain elastomer processing equipment such as:
Mixers
Extruders
Molding presses
Curing ovens
Inspection and testing tools
Lead or support capital equipment projects including justification, procurement, installation, and validation
Identify and implement new technologies to improve material flow, curing chemistry, throughput, and product consistency
Support safety initiatives related to high-temperature processes, chemical mixing, and press operations
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations governing elastomer materials, chemicals, and curing agents
Required
Manufacturing Engineering experience within an elastomer or rubber manufacturing environment
U.S. Citizenship (ITAR requirement)
Experience supporting production operations in a regulated manufacturing setting
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, safety, and operations
Preferred / Strongly Valued
Aerospace manufacturing experience
ITAR-regulated environment exposure
Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
