Project Engineer

JAB Recruitment is currently supporting the appointment of a Project Engineer to join a growing engineering and technology business delivering innovative solutions to the global energy sector.
This role offers the opportunity to work on specialist subsea and offshore equipment across IMR and decommissioning-related projects worldwide, within a collaborative and technically focused environment.
Manage and oversee new subsea tool builds and live engineering projects.
Complete technical and administrative activities as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Control project costs and ensure timely delivery against agreed milestones.
Produce engineering procedures, testing documentation, and bid/tender technical input.
Review engineering deliverables prepared by other team members.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to new tooling development.
Provide technical support during client tender processes.
Generate new designs and undertake verification activities, including FEA where required.
Act as offshore technical lead for cutting and related operational scopes.
Prepare, modify, test, diagnose, and repair specialist equipment in line with quality and certification standards.
Report incidents and non-conformances in accordance with company procedures.
Participate in safety, maintenance, and mobilisation/demobilisation planning meetings.
Support equipment demonstrations and client engagement activities when required.
Essential
Experience in a similar engineering or project delivery role.
Strong mechanical and hydraulic engineering capability.
Proven problem-solving skills with practical, solution-focused thinking.
Flexibility for international travel, sometimes at short notice.
Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary or remote teams.
Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office.
Fluent English (written and spoken).
Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks (or similar).
Desirable
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience within the oil & gas or subsea sector.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and DNV standards.
Subsea tooling or specialist equipment experience.
Forklift licence (training can be provided).
Experience supporting decommissioning or wider energy projects.
Awareness of decommissioning legislation, engineering methods, and operational challenges.
