Overview:
The Production Planner supports daily production order management and scheduling activities on the shop floor under direct supervision. This is an entry-level role within the Manufacturing Scheduling job family, designed to build foundational skills in production planning, scheduling, and materials coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and release production orders within established guidelines
Use dispatch reports to coordinate daily schedule execution and material flow
Perform short-term (?30 days) production planning to meet delivery targets
Monitor and adjust schedules to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime
Support inventory management to ensure material availability and accuracy
Assist with forecasting, master data updates, and engineering change management
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and develop scheduling expertise
Skills & Knowledge:
Basic understanding of Forecasting, FP, MRP, Excel, Theory of Constraints, Master Data, and Inventory Turns
Familiarity with Engineering Change Management processes
Experience with ERP systems (preferred)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, or customer service
