Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to process design activities and may occasionally act as a Project Lead, Drafting Checker, or Coordinator on projects.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess drafting performance and quality, providing constructive feedback for improvement.

  • Review and understand the assigned scope of work and quickly become familiar with client drafting procedures and standards.

  • Review engineering design data for completeness and consistency with client and internal practices before starting drawing preparation.

  • Independently conceptualize and develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using CAD or Intelligent P&ID applications (e.g., AVEVA).

  • Prepare and maintain medium- to high-complexity process drawings and related documentation from layouts, sketches, or verbal instructions.

  • Ensure the accuracy of all assignments, except for design features that fall under the responsibility of the process engineer.

  • Maintain and update status reports on assigned projects.

  • Create and manage databases in Intelligent P&ID software (AVEVA) for process engineering drawings such as PFDs and P&IDs.

  • Support administrative tasks including creating legends, symbology, platform setup, and data backups in CAD and/or Intelligent P&ID (AVEVA) environments.

  • Extract process data (e.g., line lists, valve lists, instrument lists) from Intelligent P&ID (AVEVA) for interdisciplinary use.

  • Perform design quality checks in accordance with internal process design checklists when preparing drawings.

  • Collaborate with regional offices, other engineering disciplines, and fabricators to take projects from initiation to installation.

  • Mentor junior designers in the use of AVEVA, CAD, and Intelligent P&ID tools.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to meet project and business needs.


Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the process industry.

  • Prior experience working in EPCs, engineering consultancies, or production facility engineering environments.

  • Strong expertise in the AVEVA software suite.

  • Advanced skills in AVEVA, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Adobe XD and After Effects experience is a plus.

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (preferred).

  • Commitment to supporting and upholding company and client HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) programs.

  • Ability to complete tasks in alignment with company and client standards and quality requirements.
