Procurement Specialist (Contract)
- 4 month contract assignment with the opportunity to convert
- Located onsite in Alvarado, Texas 76009

A leading global industrial and energy services company is seeking an experienced
Procurement Specialist to support a busy procurement team during a critical systems transition and increased project activity. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment and wants the potential to convert to a full-time position based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sourcing and procurement activities for manufacturing, operations, technology, and project teams.
- Execute procurement strategies and ensure compliance with established purchasing policies and procedures.
- Create and issue purchase orders while managing the full procurement lifecycle.
- Source goods and services through competitive bidding and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
- Evaluate supplier quotations based on quality, cost, delivery, and overall value.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring vendor performance.
- Coordinate local purchasing activities for materials and services not covered by existing supplier agreements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and support operational objectives.
- Contribute to cost savings, process improvements, and overall procurement efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business applications.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes is a plus.
- Professional procurement certifications (CPM, CPSM, or similar) are preferred.
