Job Details

Job Title: MI Drilling Fluids Specialist (Offshore)
Location: Offshore – Gulf of Mexico
Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off (may shift to 7 on / 7 off)
Shift: 12-hour days
Employment Type: Contractor
Travel: Required to travel to the dock; mileage reimbursable with receipt
Compensation: Includes per diem and travel reimbursement (with receipts)


Position Summary:

The MI Drilling Fluids Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable Product and Service Delivery (PSD) to customers. This role focuses on executing high-quality drilling fluid services, managing risk, and promoting continuous improvement on the rig site.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all job deliverables are accurate, timely, and meet customer expectations

  • Execute service delivery effectively and according to standards

  • Identify and implement improvements in service delivery and risk management

  • Actively participate in job risk assessments and continuous improvement programs

  • Build and maintain customer relationships to promote company products and services

  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations through CAT, self-assessments, and site inspections

  • Participate in regular service quality meetings and drive improvement actions

  • Promote and participate in HSE and Quality programs

  • Maintain required safety certifications and training

  • Strictly follow all HSE policies and wear proper PPE


Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Junior Level: 5+ years

    • Senior Level: 10+ years

  • Education/Training:

    • Completion of a recognized Drilling & Completions (D&C) School

  • Certifications Required:

    • SafeLand

    • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)

  • Additional Requirements:

    • Strong medical background or familiarity with QHS and HS (Health & Safety) requirements

    • Offshore experience and ability to work 12-hour shifts in a remote offshore environment


Additional Information:

  • Travel to/from dock is required; mileage and travel expenses are reimbursable with receipts

  • Per diem provided during travel and offshore assignments

  • Contractors must maintain valid safety certifications and adhere to all offshore and company protocols
