Overview
The Mechanical Technician Trainee (or experienced Mechanical Technician) plays a key role in ensuring the on-time delivery and reliability of equipment to meet operational demands. This position focuses on maintaining equipment performance, reducing nonproductive maintenance time, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance Base (MB).


Core Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with the established maintenance program and reliability-centered maintenance strategy.

  • Follow all procedures in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to accurately record parts usage, labor costs, equipment performance, and maintenance history.

  • Ensure compliance with Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) standards and procedures.

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement within the Maintenance Base by identifying opportunities to increase asset utilization and reduce the Cost of Service Delivery (CoSD).

  • Participate in improvement projects aimed at reducing equipment downtime, enhancing asset turnaround time, and increasing technician productivity.

  • Contribute to repair and reuse initiatives and assist with failure investigations as assigned.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while adhering to all HSE and quality standards.


Hands-On Duties

  • Tear down and clean tools and equipment returned from the field (wash bay, power washing, disassembly).

  • Use basic hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, and wrenches.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting, inspection, and assembly tasks.

  • Support ongoing maintenance and production operations as needed.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience; entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

  • Technical Skills: Ability to use hand tools and perform mechanical assembly and disassembly.

  • Learning Mindset: Willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced technical environment.

  • Problem Solving: Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Computer Literacy: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook; experience with maintenance management systems is a plus.
