The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently. This role supports preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting efforts, and general facility maintenance while maintaining compliance with all safety procedures and operational standards.
The position operates in a chemical plant environment, working both indoors and outdoors across varying weather conditions.
Perform a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks under general supervision
Maintain strict compliance with site safety policies and procedures
Support and promote the facility’s continuous improvement initiatives
Utilize hand and power tools to perform maintenance work
Change lubrication fluids and filters on production equipment
Replace lighting fixtures and ballasts as needed
Conduct preventative maintenance (PMs) on production equipment at scheduled intervals
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment issues
Participate in the department’s on-call rotation schedule
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Build positive working relationships with other departments through clear communication
Work in a chemical plant environment, primarily outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED required
1+ year of general maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude, particularly with:
Pumps
Piping systems
Storage tanks
Rotating and fixed equipment
Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical devices
Strong organizational and time management skills
Basic computer proficiency including:
Microsoft Office
Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Emaint or SAP
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to manage and organize daily work activities effectively
