Overview:
The role focuses mainly on materials engineering activities for the supply of various metallic components used in the development of subsea fields (line pipe, bends, forgings, fittings, structural steel).

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Write technical documents (specifications and technical requisitions) for supply of metallic components (carbon steel pipes, CRA pipes – Hot Rolled Bonded / Mechanically Lined Pipes / Weld Overlay, bends, forgings, castings, profiled steels) for pipelines and structural steels.
  • Support Procurement Team and perform evaluation of Vendors technical offers for the supply of these components during bid phase.
  • Review and evaluate Suppliers' technical documents for metallic components fabrication (MPS, ITP, data sheet, material certificates, etc.).
  • Liaise with welding, NDT and anticorrosion colleagues to identify critical requirements for products manufacturing that may affect company constructions or installation activities and to promote innovative solutions when appropriate.
  • Attend MPQT at Vendors' sites.
  • Attend technical meetings with Clients and Vendors.
  • Assist Inspection Team and participate in the resolution of technical issues encountered by Vendors (answer to technical clarifications and deviations / non-conformities on components to be supplied).
  • Prepare REX and Lessons Learned on your activities.
  • Participate to Research Projects in the field of metallic materials.  
  • The Engineer will execute the above activities within his area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • Master of Science or Master of Engineering in Materials Science with specialty in Metallic Materials and/or Metallurgy.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
  • 5 years minimum of metallic materials engineering experience in Oil&Gas offshore / Subsea projects.
  • This position requires also good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Assignments for missions abroad are possible.
  •  Must be a US citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship.
This position requires in-depth knowledge of the codes and standards applicable to the manufacturing of metallic components used in offshore / subsea (CS & CRA pipes, bends, clad pipes, forgings, castings, profiled steels) as well as a good knowledge and experience of corresponding Vendors.
