Job Description: Lead Planner (Contract, Outside IR35)

Summary:
JAB Recruitment is sourcing a Lead Planner on behalf of our Oilfield Services client. This role is based in Kingston Upon Thames on a contract basis and can be structured outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a planning and progress control system to support the Project Manager's decision-making process, ensuring project completion according to internal baselines and contractual dates.
  • Identify and analyze deviations from the plan, estimate final time impact, and monitor the effect of corrective actions.
  • Promote schedule awareness among all project participants.
  • Ensure the development of the Project Schedule according to contractual and internal requirements, highlighting any critical issues.
  • Implement and oversee the Planning and Progress Control System as per contract requirements.
  • Interface and coordinate with Discipline Leaders, Supervisors, and Managers to build activity schedules, assign milestones, and identify constraints.
  • Prepare and communicate all baseline documents to relevant stakeholders.
  • Issue timely and accurate reporting, including critical path analysis, project schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain and update Project Schedules, collect actual data, and monitor progress and productivity deviations from the baseline.
  • Develop and maintain 90-day look-ahead, weekly, and monthly schedules to identify trends and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Issue weekly and monthly reports to internal and external stakeholders, including the client.
  • Assist in the preparation of Project Status Reports, Close-Out Reports, and productivity feedback data.
  • Support contract amendments and claims by providing time impact analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering (or related discipline).
  • Prior experience in a similar role, particularly in Oil and Gas projects.
  • Familiarity with EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) projects, with a focus on offshore vessel planning.
  • Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
