Position Summary:

We are seeking an Entry-Level Laboratory Technician to support lab testing and equipment operation under direct supervision. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build hands-on experience in a lab setting with a focus on chemical, environmental, and material testing. The technician will be trained in laboratory safety standards, equipment handling, and proper data documentation procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Train in and follow the Chemical Hygiene Plan and current Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) laboratory safety standards.

  • Adhere strictly to all safety rules, regulations, and procedures during testing and equipment operation.

  • Assist in conducting laboratory or prototype tests using established methods and procedures.

  • Learn to build and set up test equipment and perform basic material, chemical, or environmental tests.

  • Operate laboratory instruments and equipment including mechanical, electrical/electronic, and chemical testing devices.

  • Record and document test data and maintain accurate logs for reporting and analysis.

  • Organize and maintain files, test records, and documentation related to equipment performance and testing results.

  • Perform basic lab maintenance and support cleanliness and orderliness of the work environment.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Completion of at least eight (8) hours of college-level chemistry preferred.

  • Interest or experience in laboratory work, testing environments, or related technical fields.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and report documentation.

  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and work in a team-oriented environment.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform hands-on tasks with tools and equipment.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in laboratory settings.


Work Environment:

Work is performed in a laboratory and/or prototype testing environment with exposure to chemicals, lab equipment, and other technical instruments. All necessary safety training and PPE will be provided.
