The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Field Support Technician to join our Plant and Equipment Department, reporting to the Electrical Systems Manager. This position involves extensive field travel, primarily within the United States with occasional international assignments. There is no fixed rotation schedule; however, a typical cycle consists of 8 days of travel followed by 2 days of remote work or time in the Houston office. All travel expenses are fully covered by the company.
Travel to various field sites across the U.S. and internationally to support equipment maintenance and installation, as directed by the Electrical Systems Manager.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems, including switchboards, generators, automation, and drive systems.
Perform preventive maintenance checks and calibrations using technical manuals and electronic diagnostic tools.
Collaborate with production engineers to ensure accurate instrument data transfer and system integration.
Install new electrical systems and controls, such as PLCs, switchboards, variable frequency drives, Ethernet networks, and other electrical infrastructure.
Provide crew training on electrical safety, operation, and maintenance practices.
Be available for on-call work during off-hours as needed.
Consistently follow safe work practices and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
