Job Summary
The Field Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality survey services, including Gyro, Measurement While Drilling (MWD), Logging While Drilling (LWD), Gyro While Drilling (GWD), and Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS). This role requires achieving proficiency in performing multiple combined services (“Multiple Combined Service”) in alignment with operational and client requirements. The Field Specialist applies surveying theory, operates advanced field technology, and ensures accurate data delivery to clients while upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve proficiency in performing multiple survey services (Gyro, MWD/LWD, GWD, RSS) in combined applications.
Apply surveying theory and technology to field operations.
Operate and maintain survey tools, equipment, and systems in field environments.
Utilize company software, including Field Apps, SharePoint, Multivendor, and OASIS, to support survey operations and reporting.
Perform equipment checks, testing, assembly, installation, and disassembly in the field.
Collect survey data, verify accuracy, and present results to clients on-site.
Prepare and maintain accurate job documentation, including job tickets, daily reports, end-of-well reports, and administrative paperwork.
Conduct preventative maintenance and follow technical manuals and QA standards.
Perform general shop duties, including tool testing, verification, and equipment readiness.
Ensure compliance with all company and client HSE requirements, including offshore, deep water, international, HP/HT, and other environments.
Complete required safety documentation such as Jobsite Awareness forms and site work permits.
Travel as directed by the PSD Manager to perform job duties, including rotational assignments in various regions.
Represent the company in a professional and customer-focused manner.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
Experience in Gyro, MWD/LWD, GWD, and/or RSS operations strongly preferred.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and apply quality assurance standards.
Strong troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Willingness to work in offshore, remote, and international environments.
Flexibility to travel and work rotational schedules as required.
Work Environment
Field-based role with extensive travel, including offshore and international locations.
Must be able to work in challenging environments (deep water, HP/HT wells, high-risk sites).
PPE provided; compliance with all safety protocols required.
