Key Responsibilities:
· Cable Counting: Accurately count and document cable lengths while spooling
· Inspection and Testing: Perform routine inspections and testing of cables to identify faults, damage, or wear using specialized tools and equipment.
· Cable Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair damaged or faulty cables, connectors to restore functionality.
· Splicing and Termination: Conduct cable splicing and termination following proper procedures and ensuring secure and reliable connections.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, cable layouts, and testing results.
· Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
· Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical cable issues using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge.
· Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Education: High school diploma or GED required;
· Experience: Proven experience as an electrical cable technician or similar role. Knowledge of low-voltage, high-voltage is a plus.
· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in cable spooling, counting, evaluation, splicing, and termination techniques.
o Experience using diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, cable testers, Hi-Pot.
o Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in electrical work.
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and cables.
o Comfortable working on feet for long hours conditions.
