Position Summary

The MI Fluids Plant Operator is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable product and service delivery (PSD) to customers. This role manages bulk plant facilities to blend, mix, and prepare products and bulk materials for delivery to wellsites, ensuring excellent quality control in accordance with company policies and procedures. The MI Fluids Plant Operator also assists in training other operators and trainees, ensures compliance with governmental regulations and industry standards, and supports environmental stewardship through adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.

  • Blend and mix drilling fluids and bulk products for delivery to the wellsite according to job program design.

  • Check and/or calculate quantities of material blends required prior to loading.

  • Follow quality assurance procedures to ensure proper loading and handling.

  • Coordinate movement of bulk products to and from locations with logistics and PSD teams.

  • Perform shipping and receiving duties, including completing daily paperwork for goods received and shipped.

  • Label, store, and handle chemical additives safely; ensure proper disposal of empty drums and pails.

  • Maintain bulk plant equipment by conducting daily checks and ensuring cleanliness and order in the plant.

  • Participate in job risk analyses and continuous improvement programs.

  • Wear appropriate PPE and comply with all HSE policies.


Experience & Skills

  • No prior experience required; open to entry-level candidates.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to wear a respirator.

  • Ability to operate a forklift (training provided).

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and commitment to safety.

  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • No upfront certifications required; forklift training provided.


Work Environment

  • Warehouse/mixing plant or shop setting with exposure to chemicals.

  • PPE required at all times (provided by company).

  • Local candidates required due to on-call and weekend availability needs.
