JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing an experienced Document Controller on behalf of our client. Our client is a well-established engineering and project delivery consultancy based in Aberdeen, supporting operators and developers across the energy sector. The business delivers engineering, technical consultancy, and project support services across both traditional oil and gas and emerging energy transition projects.
Working within a collaborative and fast-paced consultancy environment, the successful candidate will support project delivery teams by ensuring the effective management, control, and distribution of project documentation across multiple stakeholders. This role requires a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple documentation workflows while maintaining strict version control and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and update project Master Document Registers (MDRs).
- Coordinate the submission and delivery of documentation to multiple clients, ensuring compliance with specific document control requirements.
- Carry out quality assurance checks on all outgoing documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and correct formatting.
- Oversee the receipt, logging, filing, and distribution of incoming project documentation.
- Maintain version control and ensure full document traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project teams by providing guidance on document management processes and best practices.
- Manage and optimise SharePoint and other relevant document management systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a Document Controller role.
- Previous experience working within small to medium consultancy or project-based environments is essential.
- Highly organised, diligent, and reliable with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced project environment.
- Experience using industry-standard Document Management Systems (DMS) such as ProArc, Assai, PIMS, Laserfiche, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with client-specific documentation requirements within engineering or project delivery environments is desirable.
