We’re partnering with a technical services team supporting subsurface disciplines to hire a Data Operations Specialist. This role supports the preparation, quality control, archiving, and secure delivery of digital subsurface data products used by petrophysical, geological, and reservoir teams.
This is a structured, process-driven role with on-the-job training provided. It’s ideal for someone detail-oriented who enjoys routine, accuracy, and working with data in a consistent workflow.
Prepare, load, and package digital subsurface data products for internal stakeholders
Support the Archive team by moving data into archive systems using in-house software
Perform quality checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy prior to processing and delivery
Prepare data through:
Depth matching
Splicing and merging datasets
Basic image and log normalization
Occasional dip picking (as trained)
Create final data composites from interpreted products as required
Manage digital data delivery via secure physical or web-based transmission
Ensure accurate, complete, and secure data delivery at all times
Communicate professionally with a small, collaborative team (approx. 4 people) and internal stakeholders
Required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable performing repetitive, standardized tasks
Ability to follow defined procedures and workflows
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn internal systems and tools (OJT provided)
Preferred
Exposure to technical, lab, GIS, data, or administrative support roles
Experience working with regulated, sensitive, or quality-controlled data
Background in geoscience, engineering support, or technical operations (not required)
Daily tasks are consistent and repeatable
Primarily computer-based work
Structured processes with clear expectations
Team-oriented environment with defined handoffs and responsibilities
