Position Summary:
The Crushing Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a crushing plant to prepare mine-run rock as feed for beneficiation plants. This includes starting, monitoring, and adjusting equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.
Plant Operations
Start up crushers, conveyors, screens, and feeders from one or more control panels.
Monitor equipment performance and adjust material flow as needed.
Direct and distribute crushed product via stacking conveyors, chutes, and related equipment.
Perform clean-up of accumulated material leaks and spills.
Replace wear parts, screen cloths, and maintain walkways, stairs, guards, and control rooms.
Maintenance
Conduct routine and primary equipment maintenance as required.
Replace motors, pulleys, gearboxes, and crusher parts.
Splice conveyor belts, elevator chains, and related components.
Assist with troubleshooting and emergency repairs.
Other Duties
Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Perform heavy manual clean-up using shovels, picks, hoes, and brooms.
Lift, carry, and manipulate tools and equipment.
Operate jacks, ratchet wrenches, chain hoists, and come-alongs.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Occasionally work in confined or elevated spaces with limited access.
Climb inclines, slopes, bins, conveyor structures, and other elevated areas.
Work various shifts, including nights and graveyard rotations.
Comply with all regulatory requirements and company safety procedures.
Perform duties safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
Continuously inspect work areas for unsafe conditions or practices.
Take corrective or interim action when hazards are identified and report them to supervisors.
Participate in required HSE training, drills, and performance activities.
Report all incidents, near-misses, property damage, or hazardous conditions immediately.
