The Cable Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and cable splicing activities to ensure the timely delivery of equipment based on operational requirements. This role supports efficiency improvements across maintenance operations and contributes to reducing nonproductive time (NPT), improving asset utilization, and enhancing cost-effective service delivery within the Maintenance Base (MB).
Perform cable splicing using both hydraulic and manual equipment in accordance with maintenance program guidelines.
Maintain assigned equipment in compliance with the reliability-centered maintenance strategy and established standard work processes.
Accurately record materials, labor, work orders, part usage, and performance history in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) systems.
Adhere to TLM Product Line standards and transactional discipline across all maintenance-related business systems.
Actively participate in continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to reduce equipment downtime, improve turnaround time, and enhance overall maintenance efficiency.
Support CoSD (Cost of Service Delivery) projects such as planned repair and reuse of parts.
Assist in failure investigations and implement solutions to avoid recurrence.
Maintain compliance with the TLM Competency Management System to build and demonstrate required technical skills.
Collaborate with team members to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Entry-level role; no prior experience required.
Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a high-paced technical environment.
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential.
Casual dress code under required PPE.
PPE Provided: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, coveralls, and safety boots.
Work performed in shop and maintenance base environments with exposure to industrial tools and equipment.
