JAB Recruitment is actively seeking a Temporary Sr. Payroll Analyst to support one of our prestigious in global engineering and technology primarily serving the offshore oil and gas industry, with operations in defense, aerospace and renewables at their Houston, TX location.
The Sr. Payroll Analyst will compile and process payroll information in accordance with established practices; review source documents and prepare preliminary and final reports; and respond to internal questions relating to payroll processes. You should have experience in payroll tax, pivot table and Vlookup.

Duties and Responsibilities
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Responsible for maintaining a high degree of confidentiality relative to personal data.
Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
Validate 401K changes as provided by Benefits Team.
Process US and Canada payrolls (Regular, Terminations, and Off-Cycles) timely and accurately.
Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
Process paperwork for new hires and enter/validate staff information into the payroll system.
Assist with Federal and State Taxes processes and research where needed.
Perform Post-Payroll Processes and Audits reports.
Record staff information such as exemptions, transfers, garnishments, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
Process and issue staff paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
Compile staff time, production and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
Record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits.
Update Standard Operating Procedures documentation.
Support request from external and internal audit teams.
Perform Payroll Testing as requested.
Work with business departments at various levels to ensure accurate payroll data is provided.
Handle Verification of Employment.
Enter court ordered Garnishments and Levies.
Assist with Projects as requested.
Assist with Year-End processes.
Handle Payroll mail.
Performs other duties as assigned by Payroll Manager/Payroll Supervisor.
Qualifications
Associate degree preferred and/or Certified Payroll Professional Certification or Re-certification. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Three (3) to Five (5) years related payroll experience required.
Knowledge of SOX compliance, FLSA compliance, state compliance, worldwide foreign payroll compliance, Expats, inpats, secondment payrolls, equalization, benefit in kinds, knowledge of Global Payroll compliances ofExpat, Inpats, short term and long-term assignments.
Working knowledge of USA payroll functions
Familiarity with federal statutory requirements, local statutory requirements, local labor laws, and federal labor laws.
A self-motivated individual who adapts quickly with today's virtual knowledge, self-disciplined with a work schedule remotely from home and/or another designated geographic area as needed.
Desired
Certified Payroll Professional Certification preferred.
Working knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft (North America Payroll)

Working Conditions This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
