Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
Principal Responsibilities:
Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting the most cost-effective and efficient shipping methods, securing items for safe transit, and ensuring proper documentation.
Create bills of lading and verify shipments against work orders to confirm correct quantities, destinations, and routing.
Receive incoming materials by unloading deliveries, verifying contents against purchase orders, and inspecting items for damage or defects.
Manage inventory through accurate sorting, counting, packaging, labeling, and logging of all inbound and outbound materials.
Identify and report shipping discrepancies or damage to appropriate personnel.
Track and trace shipments, and generate proof of delivery documentation as required.
Maintain shipping and receiving records, databases, and prepare standard reports.
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, shrink wrap machines, and company vehicles; assist with basic equipment and area maintenance.
Adhere to all departmental procedures and safety, environmental, and quality control standards.
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to other shipping/receiving staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; additional education from an accredited institution may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
Strong ability to follow safety procedures and maintain quality standards.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
Familiarity with recordkeeping and documentation practices.
Knowledge of warehouse operations and related equipment maintenance.
Ability to handle and move heavy items safely.
Demonstrated skills in identifying and reporting operational issues promptly.
