JAB Recruitment is acting on behalf of our Operator client for the recruitment of an HR Administrative Officer – Employee Relations. This full-time role, based in Aberdeen/London, offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with leaders in managing long-term sickness absences, coaching them through absence case management, and supporting other employee relations cases during periods of high demand. This is a 12-month contract position.
Job Description:
- Proactively manage all long-term sickness absences, including handling Occupational Health referrals, submitting Group Income Protection claims, and conducting appropriate employee/leader follow-ups.
- Coach leaders in managing absence cases, ensuring appropriate documentation is received and stored in accordance with company requirements.
- Utilize absence trend data to collaborate with stakeholders and consider targeted interventions and resource development.
- Provide support in other employee relations cases during periods of high volume or absences as needed.
Profile:
- Prior experience as an HR Assistant/Officer.
- Preferably experienced in supporting employee sickness and absences.
- Basic understanding of employment law.
- Preferably working towards or fully CIPD qualified.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.

- Effective communicator with strong oral and written skills.
- Demonstrable organization and time management skills.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a global and virtual HR team and with stakeholders in a complex matrix organization.
- A digital mindset with a curiosity for new technology and ways of working.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, which may include overnight stays.
