Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Buyer / Procurement Specialist to manage the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of engineered, tagged, or critical equipment and materials. This role requires a high level of initiative and autonomy, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. You’ll be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, issuing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance, and supporting project goals related to cost, quality, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead procurement processes for complex, non-recurring materials or services with minimal supervision.
Develop sourcing strategies and master bid lists in collaboration with the sourcing team.
Manage the bid-to-award process using ERP tools, including issuing RFQs, evaluating bids, and negotiating terms.
Issue and manage Purchase Orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely supplier acknowledgments.
Facilitate pre-award meetings and lead resolution of key commercial or supplier issues.
Maintain and leverage supplier relationships for value creation, innovation, and risk mitigation.
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal standards, guidelines, and anti-fraud policies.
Drive supplier performance on safety, cost, and quality expectations.
Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred).
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Demonstrated ability to manage contracts and negotiate commercial terms.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Product knowledge related to engineered equipment and understanding of service-related business processes is a plus.
Physical & Work Environment:
Primarily office-based with typical desk and computer use.
Occasional supplier or shop visits involving walking, climbing, or exposure to noise and machinery.
